180º & 360º Profiling

Emotional intelligence

Emotional Intelligence

What is it?

Attributes such as the capacity to communicate and create vision, inspire commitment, foster teamwork, champion change and provide appropriate support all follow from highly emotionally intelligent people. It is possible to be highly intelligent (IQ) whilst being very low in emotional intelligence(EQ). Think of the maths genius who finds it hard to communicate or relate to others or the manager who thinks he’s a great people person who blanks his/her staff as he/she comes into the office.

Why is it important?

In determining who excels at a job- any job - emotional intelligence counts more than IQ or expertise, and for outstanding leadership it counts for almost everything. Companies that leverage this advantage add measurably to their bottom line.

This 180 or 360 report will measure your emotional intelligence in specific areas and will include your current emotional intelligence profile, highlight strengths and areas for development as well as benchmark you against a control group of other senior managers. If the 360 option is chosen a range of stakeholders (peers/direct reports and line managers) will be able to respond to help you measure your current impact in defined areas.

Team Emotional Intelligence

Delivering high performing teams

Evidence shows that teams that act with more Emotional Intelligence (EI) outperform others by 70%. The te™ toolkit is designed to maximise team effectiveness by addressing the core building blocks on which relationships are based and enable teams to self govern their success.

Key attributes of a high performing team include high levels of engagement and energy, focus and drive, common identity, efficient meetings and delivered goals. Team EI is crucially determined by the team ‘climate’ or pervading attitude which impacts directly on effectiveness and behaviour.

Testimonials

“Not only have I achieved my goals but I have learned a lot about myself along the way. This has helped unleash greater potential to develop and has already enhanced my performance goals”

Diane Murray, HR Manager, Certikin UK

“I found time spent with Helen proved extremely valuable. The outcome of the conversations has been for me to refocus on what is important in the development of HW Corporate Finance and not get so caught up in the day to day noise that surrounds us all. I have now taken specific actions which I am sure will see HWCF grow more rapidly”

Charles Whelan Managing Partner, HWCF
